You'd have to be incredibly autistic to not see the sexual undertones in grabbing a guy's hand and helping him play. This is the same for opposite-sex people, too. Touching another's hand and prolonging that contact is considered a sexual advance. You'd also have to be pretty stupid if you think you can extrapolate that sexual advance to a life-threatening situation.

And no, I don't live in bumblefuck, rural south. I grew up in Bed-Stuy and now live in Astoria.

Ploopie•

Actually, Bed-Stuy explains more than bumblefuck, rural south.

fucking hipster.

sorry, I had a little bit of arrogant bastard tonight.

[deleted]•

wow like i've never been called that before

tip for you rednecks: hipsters don't live in bed-stuy or astoria

0
MonsterIt•

To be eligible for redneckedness, I'd need to be white. Which I'm not.

And also, if it looks like a duck.......

1
NakedRightNow•

what he said.

-6
[deleted]•

Get over yourself, its not a sexual advance, its fucking hand contact and it always will be. I touch many hands each day, I am a takin man, happily. Human contact =/= OMG SEXZ.

-9
[deleted]•

Given the context nappers provided us, this is definitely interpreted as a sexual advance. It doesn't take a fucking genius to figure that out.

1
nappersOP•

sexual advance? it can be a violation of private space but sexual advance? lol no

You'd also have to be pretty stupid if you think you can extrapolate that sexual advance to a life-threatening situation.

You seem pretty stupid to not detect the joke

Also if you think that accidentally grabbing a guy's hand so you can use the mouse, then why don't you pay France or Italy a visit. You'd think everyone's sexually advancing everyone and all of them are sissies

-17
mckzr•

Where do you live though?

4
[deleted]•

^This. Also, it's quite evident that the dude's autistic if he doesn't understand the very well-established sexual construct of "holding hands."

4
nappersOP•

The autistic one seems to be you, sadly

So if someone's trips and I grab their hand to lift them am I sexually advancing them?

Oh god! I must cease any physical contact with everyone!

-14
nappersOP•

Argentina, why?

-3
[deleted]•

But, everyone in France is a sissy.

0
dwinters588•

Honestly even if we were both gay and you grabbed my hand while it was on the mouse... Personal space, dude.

29
Paxman94•

I'm goon to assume your his roommate. It seems there's a bit of tension between the two of you.

You should kiss and make up.

5
[deleted]•

Fuck that; humans touch.

0
WindKin•

Not invoulentarily we don't. In normal circumstances, when there's no crowd, I reserve 40 cm around my body for myself. Anyone who goes within that zone uninvited risks life and limb due to self-defense.

No, I don't do hugs. Go away.

0
MtHammer•

You know, calling it "Asscreed Bro" doesn't make your situation seem any less gay.

20
fooze•

So you're comparing a scenario where it's required to save a man's life to a scenario where it's just weird and unnecessary.

Come on..

15
yaten_ko•

So you are gay right?

11
nappersOP•

Nope

0
[deleted]•

You're both playing a game called Asscreed Bro. Sounds like a gay game to me.

3
nappersOP•

it's not!

-1
StareDownEverything•

So true. This one time at a concert I put my had on a guys shoulder to move him out of the way, so he punched [or lightly tapped, I'm not sure] me in the dick and said "Get away faggot"!

Not all sexually insecure men are prejudice and not all anti-gay people are sexually insecure. Quit being prejudice.

QUIT BEING PREJUDICE!

And I mean all of it! Stop it!

6
Jas_iii•

Personally, I try to be tolerant of prejudice people. I was just highlighting his hypocrisy.

Sweet, upgraded to two Chans.

Edit: Seriously though, is there something that needs clearing up?

1
Jas_iii•

Yeah, here's the thing.

Just because the dude's blog said the device only is impacted by sexual arousal, doesn't mean it does. I followed his source and have no idea where he concluded that from. Fact is it measures circumference and possibly even blood flow, depending on the type.

Next his source says only the homophobic men displayed arousal. This doesn't mean that all the homophobic men displayed arousal. This is actually where the prejudice comes in, you taking a characteristic of a few and applying it to all then reacting to all based on that characteristic.

There were clearly no openly gay people in the study. I just thought that was funny.

Just because the vast majority of people agree with your prejudice, that doesn't make it any less wrong.

0
crackinwindow•

You make a valid point, but I still don't agree.

2
Jas_iii•

It's all gravy in a steamboat baby. I am prejudice too; we all are. It's really boils down to recognizing whatever prejudices you hold so that you can deal with them and treat the people they are against reasonably.

Not gay, but if you grabbed my hand to show me how to play a video game I would punch you in the throat.

bro. No, you're wrong OP. No. No touching someone's hand like that.

ಠ_ಠ

Your friend was correct.

8
[deleted]•

If you grabbed my arm to show me a karate move, I'd be ok with that. But if you gently decided to caress my hand, trying to show me how to push buttons...it's not necessarily gay. But I view my hands as my personal extremities, I pick my nose with them and touch my dick. Sometimes at the same time. My hands have been in every dirty moment of my life. And by touching my hands you're infiltrating that dirty filing cabinet.

7
nappersOP•

well i didn't explain myself correctly, touching his hand was a side effect. I thought that saying "here, let me" would be enough for him to let go.

I think he wanted me to touch his hand. Who knows?

-2
[deleted]•

did you stare deeply into his eyes when you did it?

3
nappersOP•

No D:

2
dogalarmsux•
  1. Ask friend, "Do you want me to show you how to do it?"
  2. Let him hand you the controller and then demonstrate by placing your hands on the controller and explaining how to do said move.
  3. Ask friend, "You get it?"
  4. Give back controller.
7
db0255•

"When will you sexually insecure men learn to drop prejudices?"

PROBABLY WHEN YOU STOP ACTING SO GAY!!!!!!

WHEN YOU LEARN, TO USE THE COMMA CORRECTLY.

2
[deleted]•

Your friend is gay and is projecting his own homophobia on you to cover it up.

3
kilbert66•

How did this way of thinking start? I'm not homophobic, but it just seems to me, by that logic, if you hate black people, you must secretly be black.

10
[deleted]•

Being black isn't something you can hide from your parents, who also tell you its bad.

There's this idea that you "choose" your sexual orientation. Since young, stupid kids learn this from their parents they think that if they just hate gay people enough, their own sexual urges will subside.

Hitler was having a gay.

2
[deleted]•

several studies have shown that extremely homophobic people tend to be homosexual

what studies?

Edit: Not questioning validity of heebsmagee's claim. I just haven't ever read any of the studies.

What's sad about this statement is that some people agree with it.

I live in Astoria, Queens. Lived in NYC my whole life (except when I was away for college at SUNY Geneseo). I support gay marriage. I'm glad that Cuomo got that shit through. However, that wouldn't stop me from feeling uncomfortable if one of my friends, male or female, put his/her hand on mine and prolonged that contact if I weren't attracted to him/her. Putting your hand upon another person's hand for longer than "usual" (such as a hand shake) will be interpreted as a sexual advance, and if that advance is unrequited then one of people involved will feel awkward.

Yeah, perhaps his friend acted obnoxiously. Doesn't change the fact that nappers appears to be rather ignorant of sexual constructs.

2
[deleted]•

It's one thing to be holding someone's hand for no reason, it's another thing to be physically showing someone something in a way that is clear that the contact is not sexual (as was indicated by the comic).

2
nappersOP•

That explains so much!

-1
pikamen•

Reminds me of that one scene in "Ghost" which I only know about because of Community.

2
bikykun•

I hate when bromances go sour.

2
FoxHoundUnit89•

Touching someone's hand on accident isn't really gay, but you put your hand on his, and I can see why he'd misconstrue your intentions.

For the record, I have two gay brothers, abhor the word faggot and never use the word gay in a derogitory manner, so don't give me the "durr ur a homophobedr" downvotes. You have no reason to think I'm a homophobe.

2
mattboch•

I lament the fact that two close friends can't make prolonged physical content without sexual overtones assumed by one party or the other. So uptight.
