Any UK/EU based split keyboard vendors? Basically thinking about gboards.ca but in the UK/EU.

mechboards.co.uk - uk Splitkb.com - eu

Sure there is a few more in the EU but these are the two I can think about off the top of my head.

Thanks. I'm trying to find somewhere that does metal sandwich plates and maybe even machined cases. Have any ideas about those? Or do most places only sell acrylic or 3d printed stuff?

Machined cases are not very common in the split scene right now sadly. Hopefully in time.

Nice, forgot about them haha. I bought my ergodox from them 5 years ago :)

You can get any local machining company to machine a version of a 3D design or dfx file if you wanted. There are plenty of options for that in the UK.

Have you done this? How much did it cost?

You could try talking to laserboost, they have made me a brass bottom and plate for a kyria before now as Thomas has made those files available via github. While laserboost are in the EU their shipping cost is reasonable to the UK.

I paid about 180 euros for the base and plates including shipping in brass that was polished to a mirror finish on both sides. You can save money by picking something cheaper than brass and/or not having it polished.

Have had a few different things machined in my time, not just keeb parts, but it all depends on what you are looking to have done, the material, type of machining needed and in a lot of cases the company itself. Most provide free quoting so its best to get a number of quotes for different sources to get an Idea on costs.

keycapsss is EU-based and sell corne, lily58 and ergodash. There is also candykeys which listed most of the keebio stuff, but looks like iris is the only split board in stock there at the moment.
