Best/worst occult scrolls?
Relatively new to the game and was wondering what you guys think are must takes and ones to avoid. 2 in particular ihave questions with are the enthusiast scrolls and Hawkeye. The only enthusiast scroll that seems good is lightning and Hawkeye just doesn't seem worth it.

hawkeye is pretty much always going to be a net gain as long as you're not using weapons that can't crit, like explosives. you should always be trying to crit.
fire enthusiast is extremely good in combination with Flesh and Bones, which turns your shield/armor into health and gives you passive regen. you can drain tank pretty much anything in the game with a good laser glove or fire dragon. the third piece of this particular triforce is Resolute, for a ton of movespeed and some free damage to boot.
corrosion enthusiast is amazing with Snow Boots to remove the slow effect.
i usually don't take Coin Shot even if i'm going for a high-damage low-rof build, since it's a pain in the ass to discard it and pick it back up for every elite or boss and if you forget it even once you can drain your savings faster than an addict in vegas.
Spirit Feline is a risky pickup early on since it's basically just gonna double the damage you take. but by stage 2 (elite) and beyond it's probably the single best damage mitigation scroll in the game. just stay the fuck out of flamethrowers. i don't think it's that good in the grand scheme of things though because mobility & high dps are better at keeping you healthy than damage mitigation is.
the Shard scrolls seem basically useless. elemental damage is fairly rare, it doesn't work on self-burn, and increasing the other elements leaves you open to one-shots. they're not bad, necessarily, but i pretty much never pick them.
Ostrich Rider gets outshone pretty quickly by any of the dash scrolls, but it's fun as hell to stack movespeed.
be careful with Blazing Hoop since it's guaranteed to get you killed by explosive barrels sooner or later.
DON'T TAKE FINAL JUDGMENT IN ELITE MODE UNTIL YOU UNLOCK DEMONLORE! i mean you can use it, but drop it for stage 3. demonlore requires you to kill 100 lobsters with fire damage, and using fire damage to trigger final judgment's execute effect DOES NOT COUNT. Giant Slayer has the same problem as well, though it's less consistent about fucking you over.
deflection shield is a trap a lot of the time, but honestly i still think it's great - you just need to have high DPS with it or you'll get swarmed. as long as you can consistently pick off nearby enemies, it's especially good against all the ranged enemies in stage 3 + the final boss.
Improved Clip can really fuck with your ammo management since it won't overflow excess ammo into your reserves. if you start to run out of ammo, just get rid of it. Against the Flow is pretty much amazing since it got buffed so I'd always recommend taking it unless you already got Advanced Depot or something.
my top 5 are probably -
Advanced Depot (no contest)
Snow Boots (esp. with Corrosion Enthusiast)
Strategic Advantage
Paranormality (cat/bird)
Penetration Bullet
but it totally depends on your character and build! a lot of common scrolls like Devil's Covenant and Advanced Joggers are top tier, and some legendary scrolls like Shrine of Recovery and Safety Measures are dogshit.
I had the triple dash scroll, Gold Shield (the shield back on dash/ability) and spirit feline.
I was fucking immortal until I stood in a jellyfish for 0.3 seconds and imploded.
Well said.
I have a new found appreciation of shards as nightmare. You can't kite as well thanks to the density of enemies, and shard avoid getting locked down and killed by poison pellets.
