I got a taillight for my bike but didn't want to ditch the rear reflector entirely, so I created a bracket to mount the reflector just a bit lower. I'm slowly getting better at FreeCAD.

Every time I see stuff like this (and do similar things) I just sigh and think: This is a great time to be alive!

Yeah I'm still very much a CAD newbie but going from [problem] to [idea] to [design] to [prototype(s)] to [fully functioning solution] in a matter of hours kind of blows my mind.

The seat mounting pipe pattern made me worried for a moment - this would nit be the best part to be fdm printed

Can you posy more photos of more angles? I’m curious about how you got the round printed piece around the metal of the bike.

Hmm, here are two of a previous prototype, before I realized I needed to add the 45-degree angle to drop it a bit more:

I basically just lucked out that the PETG was able to flex enough to fit around the bike frame without breaking.

Ah, I see. That makes sense. Thanks.

I thought you might’ve had to make it into two halves or something.

if you had an inflexible material you could always just have to remove the seat to get it on. bit of a pain perhaps but you only mount it once
