Can't fire councillor for 25 years?
I repeatedly get an event where someone joins my council for 25 years and I cannot fire them. What causes this? They have no hooks on me and it seemingly happens at random.

Only way I’ve had it happen to me is if they have a hook on me. Usually if I drunkenly blab at a feast.
I've seen it pop up, I assume it happens where an event is supposed to fire?
Maybe the devs don't want us to know when a vassal or courtier has a hook on us?
This is happening to me too. No hooks, no information as to why. But suddenly I get a popup that my +22 Chancellor is replaced with a +3.
Can't figure out how this happened or why, and I hate it.
Same, no hooks, no secrets, nothing as far as I can see
Edit: just found it, their fuedal contract had been modified by the previous ruler to grant them "guaranteed council rights"
The feudal special contract is the cause ... thanks for the hint ... I was always wondering about those low skilled 25 years granted council members ... as an emperor I just handed that baron vassal over to a duke of mine and the council seat was free again 😏
