Halloween Idea
My kids love dressing up and trick-or-treating but that’s not happening this year. I had a thought this morning:
HELL-O-WEEN
I think we’ll just walk the neighborhood, eating candy, socially distancing, and saying “HELL-O” to friends and neighbors doing the same. Thoughts, Spokane? Stay safe
ed. I delineated the “hell” to make it edgy and unwholesome. My 7 & 9 yo demand this

Trick-or-treating is actually a fairly safe activity because it occurs outside. I'm sure there are additional tweaks that could be done like requiring candy be left in baskets outside. But compared to all the much riskier indoor and family-gathering activities people are going to be engaging in come Oct/Nov, it seems like we should try and at least preserve the less-risky trick-or-treating tradition.
I'm way more worried about what people are going to do come Thanksgiving and Christmas. Big family gatherings have shown to be major spreading events!
Good points! It’s just a shower-thought and fun name... I doubt I’ll let my kids trick-or-treat if we’re still in this current phase. It’s not Sturgis-level exposure, but my kids can’t keep their hand off their faces, especially in cold weather. Thanks for the perspective!
I think it's cute, and if your kids like it, go for it!
Well thanks for that! Your positivity is going to pay off, internet friend
