Powered by a 9v battery. I know the pictures aren't so great but they're the best I've got at the moment

One pot begins to dim the signal, as you turn the resistance down it turns the image weirdly inverted and blue/red. The other doesn't do much by itself but when both are turned fully the image turns purple/green and glitches in a really good subtle way.

Where does the battery come into play? Or rather what is being powered?

Grounds from the input and output are soldered to the negative side, positive goes through the capacitor and 1k pot and then from there into the middle leg of the transistor. I wouldn't be surprised if it works without the battery but I found it helps with stability.

Cool thanks for the info.

So if I’m understanding correctly, it’s effectively a variable RLC band filter with a gain pot on the input?

I’ve found some really similar looking bends in an old video mixer I’m playing with. Do you have any logarithmic/reverse log pots? I’ve found on a ones like this where it has a lot of activity on the extreme ends of the pot, they can be helpful to get more resolution from those spots.

It very well could be I barely have any idea what I'm doing! I think these two pots are logarithmic, I think I used up everything else I had. I have a Sima processing center I bent and found a similar effect, it seems like a common on in a lot of stuff but I'm glad to have a standalone version now.

This looks fantastic! I am able to coax a similar effect out of the archer enhancer I more or less randomly put 3 pots on (trial and error), but never on demand. If you are looking to explore this effect more (as I have sometimes wanted to), I think it has a lot in common with Solarization effects (as included on the Vidiot). You may be able to find some literature on Solarization circuits that will spark some kind of idea.

On the other hand, trial and error seems to be working out great for you so keep at it!
