Deck Support Post Rotting
I was doing some landscaping underneath my deck and noticed that the base of the deck support post was discolored, so I reached down to see if I could feel what it was and ended up poking my finger into the deck support. This led me to check all of the other deck supports and they seemed good, but they're all direct buried. The rest of the deck is in good shape, no bad boards, been stained and cleaned pretty regularly.
The question is can I just replace the one support post in the short term or should I replace them all with proper footers? Am I at the point where I really should just replace the whole deck?

I'm not a fan of directly buried posts. My deck has directly buried ones when I bought the house but I'm going to tear mine out and do it properly with concrete footings that extend above the dirt and wood posts on top of that.
Man, I asked multiple builders to do that and they never heard of it. Blows my mind
Where do you live?
Mine got half assed.. they dug out holes and used concrete blocks instead of pouring a foot but its held up ok.. at least the wood is off the ground..
