A little positive note, any port in a storm(or pandemic)

Just wanting to share/celebrate a little moment of happiness.

I live on my own, and now that my province is deep into the second wave(getting higher daily cases than the peak of the lockdown), my bubble has decreased so dramatically that only people I have to see are inside it. One of those few people is my ex boyfriend, as we were/are so close with each other’s families that they care packages with stuff for both of us.

Last night the isolation hit me hard, as I realized that I don’t have any other women in my bubble. I told him that, and that I just miss having a girls night, so he showed up with sparkling wine, chips and dip, face masks, and wash out hair dye, and we set up a zoom call with my best gal-pal and the three of us had a little girls night together, living our best lives and talking about every though or feeling we’ve had over the past few weeks, My friend even taught him how to French braid my hair through zoom! He’s now sporting glowing skin, baby soft feet, and purple hair.

Having your female-social needs being taken care of by, not only a cis straight man, but an ex-boyfriend was super strange, but by the end of it, it made me feel more “normal” than I have felt in weeks, and really made me happy that he’s still in my life.

I know what you mean. My best ex and I split up 5 years ago - amicably due to circumstance. He was a good man, it just didn't work. We remained close friends. I even attended his wedding to a perfectly lovely and intelligent woman.

Just shows you've good taste in men.

I am close friends with 3 of my ex's. Two are out of state and one is local. The local one, helps me with house and yard things and has even buried my pets when they died. When the worst things happen in my life, he is my go-to person. So I don't think it's strange at all! I think you are lucky to have him.
