I really enjoy this show! The music, crew, and endings, the smooth fighting, the not annoying dialogue.
From re-watching episode 1 & 2 after seeing 5, I picked up on the cues and purposeful plot creation that was created, but I may have missed the first time. Each characters desires are laid out, their personalities are briefly introduced and built upon more in 3, 4, & 5.
There’s some light plot twists, mysteries of the world building they’ve created, and great fighting scenes. I look forward to how each member of the crew interacts with one another (which I haven’t looked forward to in anime’s before).
I love the intro, the colors, and segments are aesthetically cool. I also love how they make so many aesthetic choices with colors/lighting by setting the scenes in the city or use of the lighting (sorry I know that sounds general, I don’t want to spoil locations)
Anyone else just waiting in anticipation? This has made my life better, and I’ve been feeling really down.

Despite how hype I can already get with following the anime I like, Akudama Drive has really been one I’ve been constantly looking forward to the next episode for. Like it’ll be Friday after watching the new episode last night and I’ll be like ugh when is it gonna be Thursday?? Then again I’ve been waiting if or it since they announced it, having the Danganronpa creator and character designer involved already had me knowing it’d be bonkers and I’ve been so happy seeing it rise on the popularity polls.
Love the characters, their interactions, aesthetic, smooth animation, great amount of color and detail in the visuals, heck, even the silly rabbit and shark shows for the quick exposition so they can get back to the fast pace. While still being able to have the unexpected long shots for the emotional moments.
