Am I missing something with Ayoa?
I find mind maps very useful for breaking down and planning complex tasks (I run a tech website and a couple of open source projects as a hobby). But I always seem to end up using a spreadsheet or Onenote for keeping track of progress. I even tried using Jira once, I use it at work, but it was a bit much for hobby projects.
Problem is that I have to keep the mindmap and spreadsheet manually synced, which is quite frustrating.
It seemed like Ayoa offered both - mindmaps and task sheets that are linked automatically.
So I paid for a month subscription to try it out, and I am not too impressed. The tasks and mindmaps seem to be linked in quite a half-arsed way, and every way I've tried to make them work together seems to not quite work properly.
Is anybody using Ayoa in this way? If anyone can offer any tips, or just a ray of hope that I am not wasting my time, I would appreciate it.

MindManager has a feature to read/write a spreadsheet, AFAIK
Thanks. I'll take a look. Although I was hoping to avoid having spreadsheets at all.
What Ayoa seemed to offer was the ability to make nodes of the mindmap into tasks that could also be viewed on a kanban style board. This means the mindmap shows the structure of the tasks, but the kanban shows the order the tasks will be done, and what stage they are at.
I can't see any reason why that shouldn't be possible, but it seems in Ayoa the link between them is quite clunky. Unless I have missed something. I think it is maybe because Ayoa seems to have started from a melding of iMindMap and some separate tasking software, and they almost but don't quite match up.
MindManager has tasks and Kanban view as well, I never used it though, but it’s pricey.
Looks good, but I wouldn't really be using it enough to justify the cost. If it was a similar price to Ayoa maybe. I guess you get what you pay for to some extent.
I agree with clunky, although I really like the concept. One of the big sticking points for me was the performance of the android app. Slow to open and buggy.
For me GTD means being able to tweek offline on the phone in downtime. Too frustrating on Ayoa android.
I wrote a few posts about using Ayoa
