My first day sober will (hopefully) be my bday

I’ve been smoking weed every day for the past 2 years. I’m 20 years old and due to the pandemic and general stress of the last few months I’ve increased my intake quite a bit. Somedays I spend mostly high. While on others I’m waiting to get high. I’ve tried to stop three other times and couldn’t get past a day. Somehow when I smoked today, I made the choice to flush all my weed. I’d usually smoke rn but I don’t have any so I’m finding it pretty hard to cope. I started this thinking it would be fun but now I have a high tolerance, shell out $140 a month on weed, and can’t manage to eat or sleep without it.

As someone who smoked heavily for 20 years and recently quit. It won’t get easier if you wait. Stay strong. Find supportive friends, exercise. The first couple days are tough with sleep and eating but it will

You have got this. You have the strength in you to succeed. The feeling of resistance is increasing your awareness and acceptance of yourself.

It can feel hard to cope, especially in the first two weeks. You will feel yourself wanting it and will allow the feeling to pass as you accept the present moment. It will become easier over time and is difficult at stressful points such as the beginning.

We believe in you. Allow yourself time to process and really feel. It is a process and you have taken great initial steps.

Just breathe.... I wouldn’t worry too much... the first thing I would say is be easier on yourself... quitting any habit isn’t easy.... takes a plan... it’s less binary than you think.... it’s not one time that triggers it as I used to think... as a multiple different type of drug user... not just addictive but not non addictive as well..... never used one within a month of the other and use was limited to 6 to 7 experiences over almost as many years.... Plan... on days where I have had withdrawals from any substance it boils down to filling yourself with activities and expecting to suffer for 5 days
