Clans.

I know there is r/bf3clans, but they have an unfortunately dismal readerbase and I'm hoping to get a decent reply.

I have the game preordered and will be looking for a group of people to play with once it comes out. Preferably a group that uses mics and solid teamwork.

I will be playing all night long from the hours of 10pm-7am CST on a fairly regular basis. Anyone have a group that needs a slot filled?

Instead of just throwing your name into a hat, I'd recommend proactively looking into clans you're interested in. 2 clans can achieve the same objective but in 2 disagreeable manners.

I recommend doing some homework and find some clans you're interested in. Keep in mind communities like Reddit, while not clans, can also achieve what you're looking for. Visit their servers frequently, and eventually you'll find one you like. It just makes much more sense to find a clan or community that caters to you instead of you catering to one.

That's the timeslot I'll be active on if my work schedule remains the same. Pm me when it's in beta or if you wanna play sometime on bad company 2. (but i won't be playing bad comp 2 again until deus ex is fully exhausted...god damn that game is fucking amazing.)

and i've got like 7 years esports competition history with CS.

I cant really claim to be anywhere near a professional level with games like this. Mostly I just know enough to stay in cover, move as a group, make sure you have more lines of fire on your enemy than they have on you, and have an avid fascination with making things explode in as over-the-top a fashion as possible.

I've never done a competitive match in this game either, is it 6v6?

Previous Battlefield games (not Bad Company) had maps that allowed up to 64 players. I dont see why this one would be any different.

Yeah, no doubt. But competitive, league play which 'clans' typically engage in would be much smaller...It looks like TWL might be the main league? ewwww... if so it's 6v6 and 8v8 as I had thought.

You really think you could organize a 32v32 league match? You must remember that normally leagues have rules for servers, such as everyone must have a ping of 100 and lower, etc. Not only that, it would be a nightmare to call strats for that big of a team.Even though I have never played any of the battlefield games in a league, I can assure that league matches will not be 32v32.

Imo you should just play by yourself regularly on a server you like. Play with whatever clanners are on and it shouldn't be long before they ask you if you want to join up.

is there going to be a reddit clan?

A reddit clan? Or a large group of users who have common letters in their handle?

Think about it if you had 2000 people in the same clan. You would never get to play in a scrim/match.

Might as well try organizing a Reddit league.

Good points, I hadn't thought about the logistics of that at all.

We at AwpaholicA.com have a ventrilo/ website and a bunch of servers, however when BF3 comes out we have a group ready to play on our server (which we will have up the min. of release).

We are going to have a release party of sorts, and play through the night.

We have been a clan for over 5 years, and have every intention of putting a ton of weight into bf3.

Hope to see you on some time. You can get our Ventrilo info at www.AwpaholicA.com

Hey Werehuman. A few friends and I just started a new clan that will focus on having a close community and teamwork ingame. All of us are also in CST and are also most active in the time you mentioned. I haven't really made the site public yet, but I thought it was worth mentioning to you due to the coinciding hours we play.
