If you draw/ paint/ record a video/ sing etc, do you have to look at that thing you made obsessively?

Discussion

For me, if I paint a picture, I almost can’t stop looking at it, partly because I can’t believe I created it, and partly because I want to see if I can do anything to make it more perfect.

The same goes for when I record myself singing a song. I just obsessively listen to it over and over. It’s not narcissism, but more like wonder and obsession.

Does anyone else have e same thing?

I love drawing and I also make music in my free time. Every time I look at a good drawing it makes me stim as I imagine the character being animated in my head, either leaping through environments, slaying hordes of bad guys, or having a conversation with another character. When I make a song I can't help but listen to it nonstop.

I am NT and very interested in what you share! How do you distinguish narcissistic (NT) and obsession (spectrum)?

I don’t love myself at all I know that for a fact. I think I just become very detail obsessed with my work and how it ends up looking or sounding. If I were a narcissist then I think I would not obsess over the things I made, but rather the way the people around me received those things. I don’t much care about that.
