Looking for feedback on a situation

I recently adopted a Malinois (1-year old) who is leash frustrated. Often lunges, whines, sometimes barks at other dogs passing the street. Her threshold is about two dogs, after that, she escalates in reactivity/frustration.

On today's walk, we encountered a dog across the road in the opposite direction. This dog barked and growled as soon as it saw mine. We were having a great walk so I thought we'd use this as a test. I positioned her behind a tree, I know she saw the dog but I think the dog lost sight of her the way we were positioned. I kept her watching me with the watch me command and just rapid fire one after another, fed her treats. I think I caught her at the point where she wasn't beyond her threshold so she actually was accepting the treats. When the dog was more than 50 feet away I gave her the command to walk on and though she looked back once or twice, she was far more focused on me and the walk then she usually is after an encounter where another dog barks at her.

I really think this was a success but I would love to get on an opinion on if the way I handled that is doing anything to counter her reactivity? Is there anything I might have done differently?

This is really good behavior. You kept your dog’s attention until the trigger was far away. That’s positive! Keep it up!
