Career question pertaining to the security field
Maybe this isn't the place to ask but figured I would anyways. I am currently 20 credits away from my bachelor's in law/criminology and am Security+ certified as of last November. I work as a forward signal NCO in the Army but would like to change things up a bit for my civilian career
I was considering three routes from here:
(1) pursue a second bachelor's in cyber forensics, as one of my career goals would be to assist in tracking down cyber criminals and child predators. This would take me an additional 2-3 semesters (minimum 30 credits)
(2) instead of getting a bachelor's in cyber forensics, I could get a post-bachelorette certificate in cyber forensics. I talked to an academic advisor and this is actually what she recommended if I were to pursue cyber forensics. This would be roughly a 25-28 credit program
(3) obtain a master of science in security technologies.. This is a 4 semester, part-time program offered from my university (roughly 8-14 credits per semester for 4 semesters). I would have to dig a little deeper to see if I am eligible to pursue this with my current degree route (also from the same university)
I am unsure if I want to be too heavily involved in programming or coding, which is why cyber forensics seems so intriguing. However, I'm not sure what jobs are available with this degree. Also not sure what jobs are available for those with the master's degree in security technologies. Does anyone here have any insight into any particular path I listed?
Thanks in advance!
