Epic MegaGrant recipient!

Hey all,

My team and I have been working on a Third Person Action MOBA called Predecessor using the Paragon assets and was fortunate enough to receieve an Epic MegaGrant!

It was a great way to end 2020 and I hope all of you are also able to kick 2021 with a flying start! We're also hiring, so thankfully been able to turn this into a much bigger project.

Okay that's unexpected. First they release the Paragon assets worth 12 million for free and then they give you a MegaGrant. They might as well become the publisher of the game :P

If the game is successful enough they'll make the money back.

Hey! Congrats on the MegaGrant, must have been incredible to get that email!

How long did it take from when you applied to when you were notified of getting the grant? Did you receive the "We need more time email" between then?

I applied back in August and heard back in October that they need more time and I have sent more stuff since then. Waiting to hear back..

What you see in that video is what I submitted to give you an idea of how far along we were when they accepted us.

I’m not sure how early on they provide mega grants but hopefully that helps.

It did take quite a few months

wow this game actually looks pretty dope. are all mega grants the same size or are there various levels?

There are various sizes, I believe they range from $5K to $500K

Do you think they give out as many mega grants for VR games?

No idea to be honest, I think it’s more on the merit of the project over if it’s VR or not but don’t quote me on that
