Are there REALLY this many people who don't get the show???

I get the recent trolling videos were mainly directed at the big white faces on Twitter who have their avatars tweeted out by Dan after they lob some criticism at him. That part makes sense, but I've seen a bunch of people replying on Twitter and Instagram claiming that they've listened to the show for years and didn't realize it was a bit until the Papi video earlier.

There's no way this many people actually believed him at first. I thought they were funny as hell but not for a second did I think this many people would get successfully trolled. It's so crazy the power the show has as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos and that'll be a home run

Relish these fleeting moments of ignorance because soon the only people that will be listening are the ones who actually “get the show”. The days of baiting big stupid white faces who listen to ESPN (by religion) are sadly coming to an end.

That is just fine by me. Dumb fucks can go suck out trump's asshole. As Dan has said in the past; many other places they can go, if they want that garbage(paraphrasing)

I'll admit I get the show and I didn't get that the joke was mainly directed at the big fat white faces. I just thought it was a play on the Baldwin thing that fit perfectly with the LeBatard family.

Look at people's reactions to Brent Terhune or how people still think Colbert "changed" since his Comedy Central days. I personally know people in the second group. There are just some people who don't pick up on things. They believe exactly what they see and hear, especially if it comes from someone they know.

I mean how many devoted listeners have come on here asking the same questions that have been repeated on the show and Reddit for a month? It actually has me a bit worried about the number of people who may have been listening or watching the show as white noise.

..well Colbert did change, he used to be funny and now he isn’t

It's amazing just how different satire can be for comedy. Colbert was a great satirist not so much straight comedian.

Think he means people who think he "changed" fundamentally as a person as opposed to just having a different type of show where he's required to be a little more tame. He's the same dude and still funny as hell when not constricted by network tv.

But definitely agree with you, the show is not funny or entertaining at all compared to the report

Yes, That's what she meant. I know people that still think right wing Colbert was real Colbert. I wouldn't know if his current show is funny. I stopped watching late night with Letterman. I gave him a shot in the first week. It's was awkward and I didn't feel like laughing at current events at the time.

I think a lot of people also don’t know the hilaria baldwin story

Reading some of the posts about Sarah not getting the show, after a podcast that actually helps define the show for what it is, and a wonderful tribute to Dan who surprisingly really went out his way to help her career, there seems to be a lot of people who don't actually get the show on social media. So to me, not surprising at all.

I didn't love Sarah on the show at first either, and could be quite critical. But you're quite honestly not that smart if you don't think she improved to the point where she finally got the show, and joining the crowd of man-children and Barstool misogynists to diss her now.

🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Sure is funny though.

And again, this accent is fake.

Except his Australian accent, that was real.

Next confession is from Stu— “I’m not really an idiot.”

Stu is the mastermind behind this whole situation. He hired Doug and Dan. He is a puppet master.

I knew it was a bit, I just had no idea, and still don’t, what it was about or whom it was directed towards. And I don’t feel like I’m missing out on a lot with this joke so I’m good with it.

Alex Baldwin's wife was born in the US, I believe in Massachusetts. She vacationed for a few short stints in Spain, so now she has affected a thick Spanish accent, including at one point faking like she didn't know the english word for cucumber, claimed she was born in Mallorca, Spain, and changed her name to "Hilaria" from "Hillary". There's more here if you want, but it's VERY FUNNY that she's such a weirdo.

As you might expect, her response to this call out has been "You're all haters and you don't understand that I grew up in two cultures (meaning I'm a masshole who vacationed in Spain)"

Look, I'm not about to go deep into this situation again, but I think it was blown way way way out of proportion. It just seems like she had family in Spain and went there quite a bit. She developed an accent for whatever reason and now she seems to code switch. Which isn't something to get so upset about.
