Looking to pull the trigger on this build before sales end, anything I'm missing that could be improved?

I'm already a bit over my budget but always open to improvements. Started as a simple upgrade but I ended up going the RGB route. First time swapping fans & using RGB, is a fan controller something that's necessary / worth it? Also any other tips appreciated. Actual total will run me about $1670 currently as I'm going with some different sites due to shipping.

If you're over budget, I don't think you need a CPU cooler or replace the thermal compound. Also depending on the games you're playing and the resolution, that 1060 might struggle a little

Over planned budget but not over what I can afford. I'm not likely to be overclocking and to be honest mainly picked that cooler for the RGBs, could probably swap that out for just RGB fans instead but it's not looking like much savings. I suppose the fans would match up better. The 1060 will be upgraded down the line, it's just what I have on hand and will be saving for a better upgrade hopefully once prices settle out.

Gotcha. Yeah you're definitely paying an RGB premium for sure. If you're never planning upgrading to Ryzen 5000, then you could probably get away with a B450 or even a B350 mobo too, might be cheaper
