yet another one who thinks they are above the rest of us
That whole reasoning is tone deaf.
If you think he should be held responsible, you can contact the London Health Sciences Board of Directors through their Liasion Officer, Tammy Eskildsen, at [email protected] or 519-685-8500, ext. 56042.
He needs to quit and move on, it's really simple. Non negotiable.
The board needs to resign for approving the travel. Non negotiable.
Who the hell are you pompous asses?
Let say he doesn’t want to quit. Do you think it’s worth spending a million dollars to get him out?
Yes
I’d rather see the million go to frontline healthcare myself.
This is a tricky one because while he works in Canada, his immediate family lives in the United States. Even when we were pushing restricting gatherings for Christmas here, it's not like we were telling people they couldn't be with their wife and kids.
[removed]
Also it's not his "wife and kids" - it's his girlfriend and elderly parents..
Is there a source for that? Would explain why he chose "immediate family" instead of his spouse and children.
Source is someone high up at LHSC (want to be careful to not accidentally dox anyone) - and yup, explains why the language is deliberately vague.
Paul Woods was telling his staff they could not be with their kids. He placed all members of his staff involved with the COVID outbreak on "work quarantine" which forced them to go to work then quarantine when they got home. Many staff members were forced to move out of their homes to quarantine properly. They were instructed not to go to the grocery store, no "non-essential" walks outdoors, and obviously no physical contact with anyone. I know nurses who went well over a month without hugging their children.
Family could travel to Canada?
It must have been essential travel if he was able to drive across, no?
He has a green card, so he has access to the US same as a resident of the US.
If he has a green card can they prevent him from entering the USA? I don’t think they can as he is not travelling on a visitor visa.
He would be classified as an essential worker
Even if he's going to the States to visit a relative?
Something doesn't add up. If he is an essential worker crossing the border, I don't see what he would have to regret.
The press release says it was his "immediate family". Not sure if that means wife and/or children, but surely someone closer than a cousin or something.
A CBC article on this confirmed that his immediate family lives in Michigan. He is a Canadian citizen with a US green card but works in London. Assuming that is his wife and kids?
That would explain the five trips this year, but that's still a pretty lonely year for him without his wife and kids.
I'm actually understanding of this one.
