Whoop! Finally :)
They showed the renders... then he said they were going to talk about the 3090 FE block and answer some questions about it at the end.... but never does...
All I was able to gather was that he acknowledged that people expect that the 3090 will have active back plate cooling. I'd wager they will go into more detail tomorrow morning and I am really hope this is a "saving best for last" kinda deal. If standard cards get active backplate cooling and the "special edition" fe block doesn't then they really missed the mark and I'll probably end up going with a different company for my block but I believe that they can't possibly be that out of touch right? Right?
From what I have seen on Facebook the fe doesn't get active cooling 🤦♂️
Hybrid cooling. Partially passive and partially connecting to the coldplate of the block.
We did talk about the FE 3090. We explained the hybrid backplate.
Can anyone notice any differences between the 3090 FE renders and the 3080 FE block? Wonder what's the hold up. And only renders so I guess "planning for preorders in January" is likely to be the 31st if it's not pushed back again.
When they showed the card with active backplate cooling I figured that was the 3090 FE and that's why it was taking so long but that card has no 12-pin connector so it must be some other model.
That card seems to be further along than the 3090FE because they showed the actual hardware and not a render. Anyway here's a shot of it along with what seems to be the new Asus Z590 Glacial board.
Hybrid cooling. Partially passive and partially connecting to the coldplate of the block. That's a big part of why it took so long. The cooling is different. But we've designed it to not be intrusive.

Wohoo! That and a timeline to order?
Still scheduled for preorders this month.
But when this month, I’ve been waiting soooo long :(
Very soon!
Just give me the link to order!
