To whoever stole my food delivery from Brunswick this morning

Not On My Smashed Avo

I hope that my dinners for this week bring you joy and happiness.

Jokes...no I don't. I hope you choke on them, or that they give you the runs. How low do you have to be to steal someone's food delivery FFS.

If it's the same people who also stole my delivery of delicious hot sauces and spices a couple of weeks ago, at least you'll have some well-seasoned stuff to eat.

I'm cancelling my meal plan now. Back to the supermarket for a weekly shop for me it seems.

Nobody starves in this country.

Take it from a former rough sleeper, if someone stole your food it's because they got bored of whatever their local catchment org was giving them.

You do not need to be an Australian citizen to access the majority of free food providers here.

Hate seeing guilt addicts in these comments try to justify out and out theft because they don't like that you get your meals delivered.

OP even mentions his food box doesn't look like an obvious food parcel, so cut your fake drama bullshit and just accept some people are thieving dogs.

Bullshit.

A 4 year old who weighed 9kg.

Get the fuck outta here with your crap.

Do you not care because she is black?

Hate seeing people dismiss the plight of those less fortunate because they dont like the colour of their skin.

Hate seeing people dismiss the plight of those less fortunate because they dont like the colour of their skin.

The person you are replying too hasn't done that. What a major overreaction.

Hate seeing guilt addicts in these comments try to justify............................

And nobody in any comment I see has done that. One false accusation deserves another my mum always said. If they can do it why cant I? Get over it.

Your mother taught you that one wrong justifies another? That's fucked, I'm sorry for you.

44
asscopter•

Fuck you're quick to make this a racial issue. Projecting much?

67
Lintsonmooooore?•

Okay the first articles people are malnourished because they're old and have declining health and hence ability to care for themselves.

The second article's child is starving because of neglect by the primary carer and holes in bureaucracy that did not allow state intervention.

Neither of these two peoples problems are resolved by stealing food. You get the fuck out of here with your crap.

53
Newwz•

That isn’t what the initial poster said, he said no one starves in Australia basically because there are services (either government or community based) that ensure they don’t, implying that means there is no justification for anyone to steal food. The 2nd poster called him out on such a ridiculous statement because many people starve in this incredibly rich country, particularly those that are indigenous or old. Do you think if a little white girl was continuously missing from preschool it would be ignored? The child was 9kg so the problem was pretty clearly visible. Its excused as ‘truancy is just something indigenous families do’, but that is the systemic racism that pervades Australia including our governments to this day, and stems from the belief that aboriginals are lazy, and there’s no helping them. So instead of doing their jobs, they leave that poor little girl to suffer.

1
SomeNonRandomWords•

Do you think the child was neglected because they didn't have enough money or the opportunity to steal someone's food?

31
rongthunkritespal•

Do you think the child was neglected because they didn't have enough money

Yes, it certainly contributed. Had this been a trust fund orphan for example, with allowances being paid to the carer until the age of 18, they would not have been starving.

or the opportunity to steal someone's food?

Yes again. This is a given, a starving person will steal food regardless of the consequences.

So you are implying that they did have the opportunity and chose starvation instead and therefore it is their own fault? Is that it? I was only poking OP with a stick for fun but it brought out the real racist it seems.

Nobody starves in this country.

Was a misrepresentation.

I hate it when people make everything about race. That is racist.

7
rongthunkritespal•

Your comment is entirely about race. 100%

My comment was two articles only one of which is about race. Only 50%.

Why are you a racist?

Why do you feel the need to point out the fact you are a racist?

I find you offensive. You are the most racist person I have ever encountered.

That sucks, man. Is it possible to put cameras up and try again? Make the cameras obvious, maybe it will deter the thief, but if not, then you've caught their dumb arse on camera and can take it further.

23
P33kab0Oo•

They'd probably steal the camera, soil the toothbrush, shorten the bedsheets, leave the milk carton open, toilet seat up, and reverse the toilet roll. Evil!

That's the kind of shit that makes me order for when I'm home. I'm never ever leaving my stuff out anymore. It's to bad it wasn't a spring-loaded box full of dog shit.

21
GoonerRoo18•

How about when an idiot uber driver drops off your delivery at the wrong door, takes a photo and drives off?

I couldn't work out which house from the photo but I walked the whole street and it was gone. So yes, people accept free mysterious food at their doorstep.

23
Ithasbegunagain•

I had something similar at my old flat they wouldn't ring the doorbell or notify me at all and 10minutes later I would get a message saying how was your food and I'm like "bitch what food!"

And cause it was an A number situation they kept delivering it to my Flats next door neighbour.

Swap out chicken juice for poo juice, even if they don’t get sick from the food it is satisfying they are eating poo remnants.

It was a big thing a few months ago out here in Werribee, a lot of people were getting those Hello Fresh deliveries and they were constantly getting stolen every morning.

There were people specifically waiting in the morning to follow the delivery truck around to steal the food deliveries, not just one or two but all of them.

Absolute scum.

11
[deleted]•

Is it possible it's your neigbour? Idk because they may know when your delivery arrives and they must be getting in quick unless you're leaving them for a while

8
rob_080OP•

According to the SMS I got, it arrived in the wee hours, and was gone when I went to get it at 7am. So there was a window of opportunity of 4 hours or so.

Sadly, I can only pick either an overnight delivery window from midnight to 8am, or a daytime window from 8am to 5pm. As I'm back in the office I opted for overnight so I could grab it in the morning before going to work. But I was beaten to the punch.

13
lkernan•

Those overnight deliveries are the reason I stopped doing Youfoodz and such.

Taking flash photos of the unit number(next to my bedroom window) at 1am and trucks with reversing beepers...

10
heymelio-fagabeefe•

I never have stuff delivered to my home for this exact reason.

What are the odds that you can arrange to have the package delivered to your work place? Or a post office box?

6
TheOverratedPhotog•

We stopped using aussiefarmers for this reason. Might even be the reason it went bankrupt. people would tail the aussie farmers truck and steal the contents at each house. After 3 or 4 houses that was their shopping done for the month.

Last time we saw footage, it was a local druggo who hits the mailboxes and steals bicycles. Reported to the cops, nothing happened. He's still doing the rounds ripping off residents.

I had a busy body next door neighbor who would put our food in his unit and not put the food in the fridge. Would give it to us 2 days later saying hi I saw this on your door step and put it away so no one would steal it..

happened to me too. I reckon it's an inside job with their mates. It seems to happen a few minutes after delivery indicating they have prior knowledge.

If that's so, they have my sympathy, absolutely, and if they're cooking and eating this week then...well, ok. Still smarts a bit.

However, my gut says it was probably someone being opportunistic who thought maybe the brown box had something of value in it. Nothing about it looks like it's a food delivery, but hey, I might be wrong.

It's not the first delivery I've had knocked off either.
