Due to some unexpected COVID cases, my family Christmas has been cancelled, giving me a complete day of leisure on the 25th. The weather will be nice, so I was thinking that a few afternoon beers would be a bit of a winner. I am far from distraught about this, not being much of a Christmas kind of guy. In fact, it's probably the best I could hope for.

Does anyone know of any pubs and/or bars and/or breweries, ideally in Brunswick or Coburg (but anywhere within easy reach of the 19 tram or Upfield line) that will be open in the afternoon or evening?

I'm not looking for a Christmas Lunch or Dinner type arrangement, just a place to drop in for a few beers. I suspect the answer might be "none

I have a 2006 BF Futura, 4SP Auto. It has served me admirably, but I no longer need it as I have inherited a newer and better car.

Whilst it starts, drives, stops and behaves as a car should, it certainly has some issues that would be a barrier to a RWC (I'm pretty certain). For example, one of the boot hinges is broken (it can be open and closed carefully), both rear view mirrors are cracked (LHS missing half a mirror). Some of the panels have a few dings (nothing major, typical supermarket carpark type dings), but it's never been in a smash. It's done ~190k and although I generally drive it around town, it hoovers up highway driving without any problems.

I'm debating between taking it t

My mate and I are heading to Brisbane this weekend for Lions vs Blues and we rather stupidly left the purchasing of tickets to the game until late. There are only single allocated seats available, which is less than ideal - but that's the price of stupidity ($64 a head at the moment).

So, rather than sitting apart, can we buy a seat each randomly, and then go sit in the GA section? Or will security make us go sit in our allocated seats? Alternately, are there any GA standing areas we can stand in and watch the game without being hassled?

I've never been to the Gabba, so I'm not familiar with the ground and seating layout, and I'm also wary of any possible COVID-19 rules lurking around.

Another "how is the airport?" question. I have a 6am flight on Friday with Jetstar, I'm kind of hoping the madness of school holidays is less problematic at the tail end of the break, and that arriving around 4:30am should see me sorted with enough time to drop bags (already checked in) and wrestle security.

Or have I got it wrong? Is is still stuffed? Should I be going earlier than a 4:30am arrival?

Does anyone have any intel based on the last few days?

Edit: It's a domestic flight to Perth

I hope that my dinners for this week bring you joy and happiness.

Jokes...no I don't. I hope you choke on them, or that they give you the runs. How low do you have to be to steal someone's food delivery FFS.

If it's the same people who also stole my delivery of delicious hot sauces and spices a couple of weeks ago, at least you'll have some well-seasoned stuff to eat.

I'm cancelling my meal plan now. Back to the supermarket for a weekly shop for me it seems.
