Forevermore

The things we whispered while we made love

After and before

Are silent, forevermore

The pheromones that transpired our pores

When we had our hugs galore

Have now ran out, forevermore

However long our kisses went for

Hereafter from our lips torn

They’ve had their requiem, forevermore

While your eyes were what I looked for

Before sleep, and at dawn’s brightest roar

Are shut and boarded, forevermore

Making you laugh has been what I adored

Giggles, guffaws, cackles and a few snorts

The comedian finishes his set, forevermore

My flaws have annoyed you with a profound vigor

My virtues not enough to reach your shore

A struggle hated; now halted… forevermore

An honest effort to open your door

In form of words to honor our lore

Fails to reach you, forevermore

Forevermore and always and for good and for all

For you this; my heart!, my heart down to its core!

For me, to begin with, the love you had for me as before

This is beautiful! And very emotional. I am actually going through some relationship issues so this really touched my heart. The last paragraph (stanza? - I’m new to poetry - well since like 20 Years ago in high school ) seems like it could use some tweaking, just to have it flow a bit better. It’s a little confusing to me. But it’s all beautifully written and I can tell you poured your heart onto the page. Well done. 💕

Yeah, I'm going through a breakup so writing and drinking and writing have been some night's solace. Not to sound dramatic, but that's where it's coming from. The last paragraph was meant to sound as if you're reading it and it explodes at the end, á la Willem Dafoe it The Lighthouse where he says "Hark! Hark!". Thank you for your input

I am as well - a breakup hoping to be a makeup 😢 - and I have been writing a lot. Today was my first poem.

Hi I’m new to this but I just want to say that this resonated so deeply with me, I nearly shed a tear. I could truly feel it in my heart. This is such a beautiful poem and I love your rhyme scheme. Just absolutely lovely.

Reads like a happier cousin of "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe. The line "A struggle hated; now halted... forevermore" really got to me. Also, the tercets really made the poem more wistful, like a bard singing tales of lost love. Not a huge fan of monorhyme, so this was a pleasant surprise.

Poe has been a favourite of mine since I was an angsty teenager. And since recent events I have recurred to him more than before. Happier than Poe is a surprisingly nice remark. Thank you for your input, I will look into learning to write in another style other than monorhyme
