I'd be happier if there were enough room for the both of us on this oyster. Happy Belated Birthday! Thank you for your feedback. Love and positivity❤️

My birthday was yesterday, this day is yours; maybe, the world is your oyster and not mine. I hope more people your age feel the way you do.

Love the energy in this comment. Should be chanted at every "coming of age" ceremony hahaha xD. Thank you for your feedback!

Hahahahah
I love this shit.
Should be chanted at graduations. I appreciate the flow of the piece, and the vulgarity *really* lends itself to how fuckin done you seemingly are with teenage-hood. At the same time though, you show an understanding of the sacrifices needed to be made when transitioning to adulthood. ‘Indifferent no more’ - ‘voluntarily oblivious no more’ - these are all things only children can afford to do in the adult world, and you’ve layered it in perfectly in your piece.

You create a deft balance between awareness of where you are at present, and a mature awareness of what the future could hold.

Thank you so much for posting this!

Thank you for the feedback! I really appreciate it. It's definitely more of a universal truth than it is just American. Especially, since I'm Indian and enduring the adulthood predicament just as heavily xD

Hello. Unquestionably straight forward and powerful in message and rhyme. Each line represents a distinct and unavoidable truth for recent post juveniles: The rules have changed forever and it's time to man-up.

The language may shock some - but sometimes it's the *only* way to convey a specific theme or emotion. In this case it may be shocking but it's describing a shocking undeniable truth.

What I like about this poem is in a few words you have expressed a universal (American) truism that many are oblivious to: In the US upon turning 18 it becomes a whole new playing field legally. Our system of justice deals with juveniles quite harshly at times - but they are no longer subject to the death penalty as they were not to many years ago.

Thank you for sharing and keep writing.

I am

Unaccountable no more

Indifferent no more

Voluntarily oblivious no more

God fuck me

For I am a juvenile, no more
