ok! I have only been writing poetry for a very VERY short amount of time. This comment helps a lot.

Your poem has a beginning, middle, and end.  I like the way it tells a story.  It's initially a story of optimistic platitudes, then disillusionment.

However, the story is abstract, speaking in generalities rather than specifics.  So it doesn't hit home as much as it would if it were more specific, painting a picture of hopes dashed.  In fact, if the picture is vivid enough you don't have to say that the world is insane, you can show it.

If you want an example of this, I recommend Voltaire's *Candide*, a satire of the philosophy of optimism, showing Candide's slow and painful disillusionment as he witnesses and experiences great hardships.  Distilling all that into a short poem is a challenge, of course, but as a rule it's better to show than to tell.  And it often works best if you are not imagining the pain, but expressing something you genuinely have experienced and feel.

Nice! I think this captures the frustrations that a lot of people have. The only thing I would suggest is maybe adding some punctuation.

People say the world is hopeless.

It is not.

The world is not broken,

It is only being started.

So you see

The world is not a lost cause

You are not a lost cause

We are all getting started

With the help from our predecessors

We can fix this

It has been stalled for generations

It must not be stalled longer

The future generations

Don't need to grow up in an incomplete world

The burden of our lives

Passed down to their shoulders

We need a stable democracy

I thought it meant power to the people

The people have no power

The people are fighting an endless fight

What about justice?

We are all people

We all have rights

We all have a say

Or do we?

People are ignored

No one cares

People are dying

Still, no one cares

What is wrong with this place

I said the world wasn’t broken

I have changed my mind

It is not only broken

It is insane
