Mr. Beast is doing a stunt where you can pay 10$ to get any picture you want uploaded to a hard drive. This hard drive is then going to the moon, and Mr. Beast wants to use the profits to buy 1 mil in BTC and also put it on that hard drive.

This popularizes and promotes Bitcoin, and it's taking 1 mil out of the market. Seems positive to me.
And it will incentivize future people to come up with a cheap way to travel to the moon to get the Bitcoin. People completely underestimate what impact this might have on humanity
Great for the memes, but this money could help a lot of people. Why not make 100 people win 10K each, some people really need 10K. I appreciate and respect MrBeast though as he does a lot at giving back, but this idea is a bit stupid imo (even if I love the memes and the Bitcoin community).
I can see that, but for Mr Beast to stay popular enough to be able to give away as much money as he does, he needs his channel to grow by innovating and doing fun and exciting things. So overall a positive thing to do I think.
He should give it to charity instead
If there is one person you should not tell to give more to charity it's Mr. Beast haha

The world is in crisis, people are experiencing poverty now more than ever then you get stupid stunts like this.

Mr. Beast does more charity than almost anyone on the planet. His entire channel is based on giving to people, and the channel has become a movement around this sole idea.
He also started a homeless shelter if that's more your cup of tea.
Honestly that's great to hear but from what I've seen the charity work is in the name of entertainment and publicity rather than simply being charitable. This man gets paid to do these things, which makes me question whether or not he's actually doing these things out of the kindness of his heart.
If he is so charitable then even more so he should reconsider literally throwing money away if he truly empathised with the plight of the common people as you suggest. I don't see how someone so charitable can condone such a stunt, like I said he gets paid to do these things.
Having grown up being poor certain things are to my distaste, I can tell you for certain if I had the wealth of such a man I would not be launching money into space for the lols because such a waste of money is an insult to those without it.
but he isn't throwing away money he already has, he is making it by selling photos, then using those profits by putting btc on the hard drive as well

I'm sad that the people here react to negatively because this is super cool and Mr Beast follows the right train of thought. Bitcoin can be used as money to inspire future generations to do amazing things. Yeah nobody is going to the moon to collect 1 million dollars. But when Bitcoin becomes more valuable that it is feasible to go to the moon with profits, people WILL find a way to create the most cost efficient way to go to the moon. We can put incentives into the future for lower costs. With Bitcoin we can right now form how our future will look like. People who say Bitcoin is a climate Desaster: Nations World wide could pool Bitcoin together and pay them out to countries that achieve climate goals. No entity controls it but smart contracts. Boom. Suddenly all countries have economic incentive to become climate neutral AND they are not hurting their economy with it.
Intergalactic megastructures. Lock Bitcoin up in smart contracts and pay them out at various stages of development. Boom suddenly multi generational projects become profitable and people can put their economic power into space projects without even needing to see them finished. If it's not economically feasible they will either find a way to make it more feasible or they will wait until future generations continue.
The potential is endless.
Or look at Age of Rust: they bought 20 Bitcoin back in 2014 and locked them up as rewards in game. Now they in game rewards are worth a million. This is super cool and if you don't immediately think Ready Player One and fangasm then I don't even wanna talk to you.
