I have a flight booked to Phoenix this Saturday and was meant to pick up my Avis rental on Monday. I booked it with a credit card linked to my google pay, of which the physical copy will only arrive next week. I called Avis, they said a debit card is enough at the location I'm picking up, but they'll do a credit check. When i heard this I informed them I wasn't a US citizen to which they responded that in that case I will need a physical credit card with my name on it.
This resulted in the cancellation of the rental.
Tomorrow as early as possible I will call my bank to try to obtain a physical credit card before Saturday, but I think the chances are low. I do have a debit MasterCard and a

Alarm clock at 8, I often wake up naturally at 7 after 8.5 hours of sleep. I continue my sleep and when my alarm goes of I feel very tired because im awoken in the middle of a cycle. Does my body actually get something useful out of this extra hour of sleep?
Just started as a software engineer. Will be abroad on average 1 week /month (is what they told me).
When abroad I get extra netto compensation per day of ~75€, depending on the country. Hotel and breakfast is paid for.

The bell/beep sound has been my arch nemesis ever since I started using Arch as my daily driver. Recently every time I shut down it beeps loudly. It also beeps loudly when using LightDM at startup.
What I have done:
- setterm -blength 0 in /etc/profile
- set bell-style none in /etc/inputrc
- xset -b in /etc/xprofile
- greeter-setup-script=xset b off in /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
None of this helps.
The wiki also suggests turning off your speaker or unloading the pcspkr module but I obviously want to use my speaker, I just don't want unneeded beep sounds.

Is it me or do these charts look very similar, almost as if the same fund is mass shorting them all.
reddit.com/gallery/l7v0wrMr. Beast is doing a stunt where you can pay 10$ to get any picture you want uploaded to a hard drive. This hard drive is then going to the moon, and Mr. Beast wants to use the profits to buy 1 mil in BTC and also put it on that hard drive.
Amazing!
I would like a future where everyone pays with bitcoin for everything, but how is this possible with these enormous transaction fees.
Using Coinbase as an example:
Let's say you go to the bakery, pay 4$ for bread, of which 1$ goes to Coinbase?
I understand the miner fee and am fine with that because it's so small.
Are we expecting the Coinbase fees to go down drastically?
