Litter sticking to liner, especially in front

Hi. I’ve had my litter robot for about 2 months now, and we are using Pioneer Pet SmartCat litter (https://www.chewy.com/pioneer-pet-smartcat-unscented/dp/116959). I noticed my cat pees in the front of the litter robot, and the pee sticks to the liner and doesn’t fall into the bin when it cycles. Tried cleaning the liner and that helped for a couple days. Also tried adding some Arm and Hammer litter box deodorizer to that area and it helps a little, but after a few days, clumps are just sticking. I had this happen at 3 and 7 minutes. I plan to try 15, but any other suggestions (or is our only option to try changing to a different litter?) Thanks!

Definitely try 15. The longer it sits the less it seems to stick.

I use the same litter and have been trying to get a specific response from LR with regard to this litter but to no avail, just cut-and-paste copy about using clay litter.

Thanks! I will try this after a deep clean this weekend. Glad I’m not the only one using this litter! I didn’t want to change what my cat used when we tried the LR.

We are thinking of switching to clay but are really hoping we don’t have to, too. Going to give it a little more time. The cut-and-paste response from LR that didn’t mention this litter specifically said not to use non-clay based litters because of the dust, but I don’t think this one is all that dusty. Which is why I’d love a response from them about this specific one! It seems to work OK with the longer wait time. Not perfect but OK.

Good luck!

try this out, works really well for me, spray in that spot every week or so:

My concern with that is some of the reviews say the smell is pretty strong, and when I used too much litter box deodorizer my cat stoped using the box. I’m afraid the smell would be too off putting...

the smell si strong at first, but dont worry, you spray it on (dont overdo it) and the smell dissipates after 10 minutes

I just use non stick cooking spray

Don’t use a plant based litter. it gives off too much moisture in the drawer and won’t sift well. I use Arm & Hammer and it works great. you could also try some baking soda or pam cooking spray on the liner.
