Hahaha, not to worry. I dont think there are dumb questions, only ones you havent found the answer to yet and sometimes all you need to do is to say it out loud (or write it down) and suddenly voila you have your answer. Indeed, we dont write the country domestically. But I always write down the country in German when I send mail abroad. I figure, the German posties decide where it has to go, so they have to be able to read the country and some of them are super old folks who dont really speak English. Australien would be it for you, not very different, but still. On holidays when I was abroad I used to write the destination in the native tongue, too. Pre google that could be a challenge lol
