How can I get my 2nd and 3rd 4K monitors to stay at 60hz instead of 30hz?
I have three (3) Vizio 40” 4K TV’s & a 960GTX. Since my GPU has 3 DP and 1 HDMI, I use 2 “active” DP to HDMI cables (That yes support 4K @ 60hz - These are the actual cables: Cable 1 - Cable 2 ) I chose 2 different manufacturers for troubleshooting purposes, for an instance just like this.
100% of the time, when I boot, the HDMI to HDMI monitor is @ 60HZ. (the 60hz will follow the cable just fine)
But 90% of the time when I boot the other 2 monitors are at 30hz, and I can’t change them to 60HZ in Display Settings > Advanced > Refresh Rate OR Nvidia’s Control Panel > Display > Change Resolution.
When I try to change them, the screens do flicker and it asks if I want to keep the settings, but it never changes to 60hz. It still says it’s at 30hz.
I’ve tried changing drivers, turning on the monitors before windows boots up and after it boots up or even after it’s been running for hours, no change.
But sometimes, a good 10% of the time, the 2nd and 3rd monitors boot @ 60HZ and stay there, zero problems. So it IS possible, it’s not technological hardware problems per se, I just have no idea why it doesn’t stay @ 60hz all the time.
If I lower the resolution to 1080P and select 60hz for 1 of the monitors, yeah it’ll jump down to 1080P and be at 60hz just fine. So it doesn’t much like 4K @ 60hz “most” of the time.
Any thoughts before I just get a new GPU with 3 proper HDMI outs?

I'm going to guess that your 960 doesn't have the bandwidth to drive 3x 2160p60 monitors at the same time.
The better option would be to drop the resolution to something reasonable e.g. 2560x1440p or base 1080p.
An example is my Intel HD Graphics 4000 can output at 3440x1440p (21:9 ultrawide) at 30Hz on a 1440p144 monitor but I can get 75Hz at 1080p if I drop the resolution.
Doesn't it seem odd though that it does somehow have the bandwidth 10% of the time? Doesn't seem possible for a GPU to have flexible hardware bandwidth.
