I bought something at an actual store today.

Progress

Like a smaller store with a cashier/shop assistant not just a big department store where you are largely left alone and can do self serve checkout. Then I was really daring and went to a makeup counter and got my foundation colour matched (I live in a covid free country so it was safe). I haven’t been too harsh on myself over analysing both interactions either.

Pretty good I reckon considering just a week and a half ago I had a pretty big breakdown after having dinner with my sister and her friends.

Great job! I don't have much issue going into stores myself but getting my foundation matched would be very stressful for me so I'm impressed.

It's worth building up to buying something every day, find quiet shops - go in and buy a snack or drink.

When you get used to it a little, make a small-talk as you are leaving (or just say 'thanks again' or something).

Basically, just build up how often you do it (and the level of interaction), the cool thing is you can always just walk out of a shop if need be. I did it for a year+++ and it makes you feel much better in general.
