If the contract is legally registered, consult rent registrations at the housing authority.  Otherwise you are at the mercy of the landlord, he probably is holding on to your deposit which is typically a month's rent.

In our lease, here's the terms for giving notice:

&gt; least one (1) month before in the case where the lease is for a period of less than two (2) years;

Does that mean a calendar month or a ~30 day period any time, for example March 15th means lease is terminated on April 15th?
