I add cornflakes, the oil from a tin of sardines and just a small shaving of imperial leather. Everyone devours my spag bol and begs to know my secret ingredient.

My secret ingredient for spag bol is garlic bread. The horror.

Please don't start talking about garlic bread again! I've only just got over the triple carb dirty talk from the other day!

My secret ingredient is dolmio

Wine, I give it to my guests and they absolutely love my spag bol after a few glasses.

I love spaghetti bolognaise (balsamic vinegar is my not so secret ingredient) but where are the teeny tinies, castigating posters for even thinking of adding sugar to a dish containing fatty meat and carbs?

Fuck loads of parmesan on the top is my tip.

I have some excellent ideas for spag bol, but last time I voiced them pointed and laughed.

Corned beef though, Pax 🤣

A few rashers of smokey bacon cheers up my bolognese.

I actually make it pretty traditionally with soffritto / ragu but my ungrateful family got bored of the way I cook it (the only meal they all bastarding eat!!)

So now I do a more traditional mince / onion / garlic / herbs (and smokey bacon 🥓)

Whenever I try to put bacon in anything, I end up eating it first 😬

I use marmite, and Lea & Perrins, in my spag bol. I use them in loads of stuff though, they add a certain je ne sais quoi. Not sure about some of those other ingredients though

Now Lea & Perrins, I can understand.

Still waiting for someone to beat 'mint sauce' (on a different thread).

Lea and perrins and balsamic vinegar are my go to for pretty much every dish I make.

I love star anise but I'm not sure it would go well with the other ingredients of bolognese sauce.

I always rolled my eyes at posters insisting on saying they made lasagne/spaghetti bolognese/curry “from scratch” (isn’t that what “make” means?? If you heated up a ready-made lasagne you wouldn’t say “i made a lasagne” would you) but never before have i imagined that they actually mean “I added raspberry jam to tomatoes”. I’m sure her strapping teenage sons with hollow legs will wolf it down along with a massive salad
