The Tyrant Duchess

The lands of Estel were a idyllic and serene place, a bountiful land filled with various duchies, principalities and other settlements, all co-existing to the betterment of all. It was a paradise upon our fair world, and we were lucky to have had it.

But it all changed when she took control. The Tyrant Duchess. Three of her brothers died suddenly, in mysterious circumstances - many blame her, though I often wonder - leaving her as heir. And with the loss of his three sons, it was little wonder that her father the Duke would soon follow, his heart broken. And that was the moment she took the ducal seat, and we all became doomed.

She had a power like anything we'd ever seen before, and soon her armies expanded outward, fief after fief falling under her dominion, until all of Estel was within her grasp. That was ten years ago, ten bleak, miserable years.

And now we're going to stop her. A band of stout hearted good men. And me? Well, I'm more driven than most, see. Because I was her lover, in our wayward teenage years, the son of a count that served her father - until we were forced apart by a quarrel between her brother and my father. I often wonder if that was the spark that led her down that path, if I might have done more to save her.

I just know I can do something now. We raid her castle this very evening, hopefully toppling her regime once and for all. It'll be the first time I'll have seen her since we were forced apart, and continue to wonder...

What will happen when these former lovers meet face to face in her castle? Who knows, let's see if we can make a story out of it, shall we? Hit me up with your potential story directions.
