Suburb recommendations

Real estate/Renting

Hello all

I am currently living in the Chadstone area in an apartment and looking to upgrade to a 3 bedroom townhouse. Block size isn't too important to me.

I was wondering if any of you had recommendations of suburbs?

My requirements:

  1. Has to be in South East Melbourne - no more then 30 minutes drive from Clayton where my daughter lives
  2. I'm not too fused, but somewhere near a train line would be handy.
  3. Something around the $800k mark
  4. Preferably an area with not too many home invasions or carjacking :-)

Its a tough market at the moment to buy, and I'm happy to make some sacrifices on location.

Any help would be appreciated.

The RACV have a burglary map that you may find handy.

Thanks. Sometimes it is just helpful to hear people's recommendations, particularly suburbs to avoid for whatever reason

Just go further south east than Clayton: Springvale, Cheltenham, Dandenong, Noble Park, Mulgrave. A lot of construction of townhouses in those areas within that budget.

Springvale south/Keysborough

See if there's anything for sale next to Yarraman station. It's a nice little pocket of townhouses.

Noble park? What is the area like? I've heard mixed things

Hiya, just off the top of my head I would try Burwood and Ashwood. Had a quick browse on Realestate.com.au and a couple popped up in Mount Waverley and Chadstone but I assume these are older properties and exceptions on the lower end of the price range.

So you want 3 bedrooms and around $800k, have you tried Broadmeadows? I hear it's lovely this time of year.
