Client PSA/LOB and Cloud File Sharing ?

Business Operations

Alright, I'm sure I'm missing something. I have a client who does architectural design and is overwhelmed with new business right now.

He really wants essentially a PSA tool, he wants to be able to track projects, send templated email updates, maybe even have a client portal that all comes out of one program.

Right now he's struggling to keep projects straight, keep dates and appointments straight, details of projects straight etc. All stuff that can be tracked managed in projects.

He also subcontracts drafting occasionally and needs to be able to easily cloud share data between himself the subcontractor(s). Ive been between Axcient 360 Sync and OneDrive for this. He's currently trying to use Google MyDrive.

Any input would be appreciated, I want to avoid trialing/reviewing 20 products with him.

Not a psa but you should have them check out smartsheet.com. Think ms project but a heck of a lot easier. I think they do 30 day trials but we use it for project management and they have a really good/helpful support staff.

Construction specific. Procore.

Otherwise smart sheets, Monday or any of the like.

Not a PSA. It’s their accounting package or project management platform. Procore or bootcamp As far as files there is no perfect solution. You want a server enabled sync solution assuming they have an on prem server. That eliminates all the pure play sync solutions like Dropbox, Microsoft and Google. You need a hybrid solution. The problem with axcient anchor is they are not developing the product just renaming it. They still do not have on demand files. We trialed Centerstack and it was a fail. We are negotiating with Datto but there is some licensing inefficient issues. Egnite is a also a solution but we have no experience with them

As of right now, no on prem server as he's a 1 man shop and fairly mobile. That could very well change in the coming months.

How easy is it to share Dropbox business to an outside contractor? I have little experience with Dropbox and it's always been an internal use.

His big thing is he is trying to build a foundation to scale from. He could hire 5 FTE right now and have them busy overnight he just can't find quality employees to do it right now.

Very easy to do 1 direction share with any of the sync solitons with no end user cost.

Look this is how we do it. We the MSP don’t care if the end user is an employee or outside contractor. We treat them all like employees and get our full stack. Office 365, av, support and file server access
