How to deal with an existential crisis:

  1. Do NOT think about death.

  2. Purchase unnecessary items from Amazon.

  3. Repeat until death.

i like the humour in this poem, but think it might work better as a witty haiku:

don’t think about death

amazon is your best friend

buy until you die

I like the poem better.
However, this would make a great talking billboard in a bleak science-fiction.

Lmao. This is hilarious, and more than slightly profound. Speaking of unnessary items to purchase, please consider: memento mori from Alain de Botton's School of Life.

Never in my life has a poem made me laugh, up until this one. It's a light take on a dark topic and the whole poem flows so smoothly I almost thought I was in the wrong subreddit. It's also painfully relatable, whenever I'm up at 4am staring at my ceiling I'm always like, "I know how to remedy my endless despair! Amazon!"

Cause nothing hits quite like buying pointless shit at 4am because it offers free two day shipping with prime. Also, I saw a suggestion about changing the poems tempo so it can be a haiku, I don't agree. The way it's written now seems more personal and it's part of what I love so much about this poem. Anyway, thank you for sharing! Don't spend all your money on amazon!

EEK! I'm terrified.
Lovely and terrifying but also a great social commentary.
Yum, yum. Good stuff. I'm going to wake-up drunk now.

Continuous Amazon purchases until you die. Amazing

I hate to say it but the guy below is right, this works better as a haiku. You still wrote it and its basically there anyway so its not much of an alteration. Good job.

Number 3 reminded me of the song called Repeat Until Death by Novo Amor. That made me smile.

Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).

If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry", or "loved it" or "so relateable", please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.

If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our feedback guide, or look through the comment sections of any other post here, or click the links to the author's feedback above. If you're not sure whether your comments are feedback, or you have any other questions, please send us a modmail.
