Adding an external siren (3.5mm plug) to my Eufy Homebase Gen 1
Images are pretty self-explainatory. I soldered a 3.5mm jack plug to my Homebase's PCB.
Why? This base has a ridiculous speaker that would never scare off any thief entering my house, as it's barely louder than my phone.
This can now be connected to a 3.5mm -- bluetooth adapter for a wireless siren (even located outdoor).
It comes without saying that the plug can be placed in other spots but I needed it to be facing the top of the base.
Hope this can be helpful to someone with the same issue.
Cheers
Simon

This, why I don't see more posts like this. The siren on the homebase (I have a v2) is ridiculously low even at max volume... Plus, the sound is only indoors, none of my neighbours will hear anything if I'm not at home. Eufy definitely needs to improve this. Add an external siren that can be mounted outside with >100 db sound. I also have cameras from them and there's option for camera to sound alarm, but not if homebase alarm starts (as it should), rather if motion is detected (?). Who would want camera alarm to sound whenever you receive mail in post or neighbours pass by your house?
Eufy, please do something about this
What do you mean by "but not if home base alarm starts"? What is triggering the home base to start alarming in your scenario?
I only ask, because I was just looking at the automation options recently. I can make any of my external cameras alarm if any of the others do. For example, I don't want to alert the whole neighbourhood if someone walks up to deliver a package. However, if my backyard camera detects someone is on my back deck, I can have it alarm and also have it trigger all of the other cameras to alarm as well (including the front yard cam), using the automation options.
My big issue with that is nighttime, when human detection reverts back to all motion. I don't want alarms going off due to a raccoon on my deck, so I just don't use any auto alarms currently.
Sorry for coming back so late on this. I have door/window sensors and motion sensors in the house. In addition I have some 2c cams in front and back of house + the doorbell. The thing is, I'm in an open neighborhood, so I don't know how to make the cameras alarm (sound) but only when other sensors are triggered, e.g. opened door/window. I don't want the cameras to sound the alarm when they, themselves, detect motion... I'm not sure if you get my point. How can this be configured with Eufy security?
The sound alarm from the homebase is not loud enough, if someone breaks in, my neighbours will not even hear it, hence having the alarm sound triggered also on the cameras makes much more sense, just don't know how/if it can be done
I think I may know what you mean and there may be a solution.
I'm not sure if you're on iOS or Android, but here's what I can do on Android:
-open Eufy app
-click on Security tab
-select home base
-click automation tab
-create an automation
---select what will be the trigger (ex, when basement sensor detects motion)
---select what will be the action (ex, front yard camera alarm, there can be multiple actions per trigger, so you can have all cameras alram if you'd like)
Make as many automations as needed (not sure if there's any limit).
Try that and get back to me!
EDIT: clarification on things
Hey, thanks so much for your quick reply! I'm on Android, I'll give it a try!
