I put 100k miles on two bikes ('06 R6 and '08 CBR1000RR) between '06 and '13. Then I decided to try something new and bought a KTM 990 Adventure (and a GSXR750 race bike). The KTM was cool for a season, but at the beginning of the second season I was getting a little itchy to go fast again. Then I fucked myself up at work and had to spend the next 6 years recovering and going back to college.
Two weeks ago I got a job offer, so I immediately put a deposit on this bike in California so that I could hoon Highway 1 up the California coast on my way home to Seattle. I rode it 1200 miles in 3 days, not a single mile at the speed limit.
This bike is fucking amazing. I already found a traffic attorney for what's coming.
6 years recovering? Holy shit, that must’ve been a bad injury, glad you’re back and able to ride now. I’m assuming you chose a different career based on the fact you went to college?
Only two years of surgery and recovery. I had ripped my bicep out of my shoulder, so it was a long process. Then four more of college.
Yeah, I definitely got a new career. I was a garbageman, now I'm a software engineer. I figured if I had to go back to school I might as well get a degree that would pay for more bikes.

Holy efff! 100k miles living in Seattle?? I’m a fellow Seattlelite and definitely applaud you for riding that much.
