The best Lions Mock Draft I could come up with based on top prospect rankings.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospect-rankings/

I found this link that has players ranked regardless of position.

Lions have following pick: 7, 41, 72, 101, 112, 153

I was imagining what would happen if Sewell did fall to Lions at #7 and they took them how rest of draft could possibly look if they selected best available player (with some regard to need) and came up with this

  • #7 Penei Sewell (Right tackle position locked up
  • #41 Aaron Robinson (CB) or Kelvin Joseph (CB) helping fix the glaring hole at CB
  • #72 Trey Smith (G) Lets complete our now elite offensive line and select this Larry Warford type Guard (Sewell and Smith replace Vaitai and crosby on right side of line)
  • #101 Tutu Atwell (WR) I am assuming this guy will be gone by this pick in the real draft but according to these rankings he is 107 best player so he would be available
  • #112 Darius Stills (DT) would solidify defensive line playing next to Brockers
  • #153 Cameron Mccgrone (LB) Worst case he would make a great special teams guy.

While the Lions would still have serious holes on their roster, you can only do so much in one year.

This draft would arguably give Lions the best offensive line in the NFL, and would fill some holes at WR, DT, LB, and CB.

What are your thoughts on something like this?

We take linebacker or WR at 41 if we go Sewell imo

There's a decent chance all the good WRs are gone then

The WR class is deep. There will be good WR through the third round. There are only so many elite prospects. There are many more who are good and can prove to be elite.

Leaving LB and WR until rounds 7 and 5 to take a guard we don't need and a CB we definitely don't need is a bad idea unless you really love the guy at Rd 2.

There's no gaping hole at CB, with actual good coaching for Okudah and Oruwariye and now Dunbar signed the lions have enough at the position - more than they have at WR, which is nothing, and LB, which is just Jamie Collins.

That said, I don't expect Holmes to draft for needs when we're just starting a retool - he's gonna be looking at BPA more than anything, so who knows.

We don't have a 7th round pick, and the WR is taken in the 3rd @ #101, so not sure why you are so confused.

yeah sorry, just took a quick look and assumed by round - your picks are still fucking trash though.

Just like your reading comprehension and knowledge of football.

Tutu Atwell is 155 pounds. Kim K's ass weighs more than that. Dude is going to get murdered

We have to go wide out sooner. We also just signed Dunbar so he is a flier at corner this year. At the top of the second is the minimum spot for us to go pass catcher. We have to atleast give Goff a chance. I like Terrence Marshall or Elijah Moore in the second. I’d love if Bateman fell for some reason but I don’t see him making it there.

I think we need to get receiver as early as possible in this draft. Offensive line in this draft is deeper than WR and we have time to develop later round picks. At WR I'd rather start the development process earlier. I also don't see us drafting CB high unless somebody great falls to us.

Would love to grab McGrone. He did not reach his potential at Michigan and I truly believe he is at least a solid starter in the NFL.

I want two WR this year. Preferably chase, but definitely one in rounds 1-2 and another in round 3-4. Holmes has good success finding mid round WRs. Pair the two with cephus and potentially have a very solid WR corps going into next season with a million draft picks and plenty of cap space.
