Deleting old convos and photos?

For those that are on bad terms with your ex, did you delete your messages with them and photos?

I’ve been moving on, I hate her guts and she’s a disgusting person but I haven’t been able to delete old photos and stuff yet, it’s not that I look at them ever, i just haven’t gotten rid of them.

So many memories are now just tainted because Im not sure exactly when she became unfaithful, so now all pictures I have leave me wondering when it was she started talking to the new guy

Any advice? Bite the bullet and delete it all? I haven’t deleted any pictures on my phone in like 5 years

I delete all text threads regardless of whether it was a good or bad breakup. I don’t want to be tempted to reread them. For photos, back them up in something like iCloud or Google photos and remove them from your device. You’ll have them in case you want them someday, just not at your fingertips where you can torment yourself.

Do it especially if she wasn’t a good girlfriend. Quicker you forget the easier your life will be.

I stored all my ex’s photos on Google Drive (I rarely use it since it’s attached to my second e-mail), made backups of our chat history on my computer but deleted it from the app itself (so no way to reread it). This way I can avoid things that can prevent my post-break up healing, and at the same I don’t have to delete them forever since I’m not ready yet.
