Is my GMMK Pro broken or is it the Core software?

Question

Ok, just got my GMMK Pro in, and I'm really impressed by the build quality. First thing I did was update the firmware to 0035 and start configuring.

So here's the issue: All the preset animation work perfectly. No dead LEDs, everything is sweet. Once I get into the individual keys, I have an issue. I wanted to change the color of my side lights, so I chose side lights and changed them to cyan. When I saved, the left side lit up cyan, but the right side was dark. Then I notice that the Right ctrl, left arrow, and right arrow keys are cyan and breathing. Odd. Change the color, and same issue (but different color).

So then I decide to change ALL to cyan (not in the presets, but in the individual keys), and I get a strange pattern of various hues. Pic

But once I go back to the preset animations, no issue whatsoever.

Any ideas? Is it the Core software messing this up, or is it my keyboard? Can anyone else test this for me to see if it's a bug?

I lose all my LED capability right when the glorious core software is running on my computer. Perfectly worked before when I was testing with switch hitter. Went through a couple settings with the Fn + Up arrow in the RGB too.

Weird. But the fact it CAN show Cyan signals to me this is more of a software issue.

Maybe try doing it via QMK and see if it works properly?

Hrm....any tips on flashing with QMK? I thought the LEDs weren't supported by QMK yet.

I don't have the keyboard yet myself, but at the very least you'll have to write in the LEDs and a Reset button so you can re-flash.

Hey there! Try writing in to support and seeing if they can help, or reset and re-update the firmware to the newest version.

So I've already flashed it to 0035, what are the steps to reset it?

Also, I did flash to a QMK build, and then back to the gmmk firmware with no success either.

Ticket has been filled.

At this point, if you have contacted support, I would wait till they provide insight into your situation and a hopefully resolution!

Yeah, that's the plan. I came here to see if anyone else was experiencing the same problem, or could even replicate it.

The keyboard shortcuts work as well, which is confusing. I'm beginning to think it's just the Core software that is subpar.

for what it's worth im currently having the same exact issues with the LEDs. im fairly certain its a software problem as all my leds light up, but some lighting effects/ assignments just refuse to work properly

Same issue here. I contacted support and they said they would email me back. My hope is that the latest firmware that I installed was the issue, and they are going to fix it.

can we downgrade the firmware?

I have the same exact issue. Just got my board today and I can put on a preset but it does not obey any per key.

I did manage to hear back from support, and they prompted me to flash it through QMK. This provided no fixes. I'm hoping that it is a software issue that will be fixed soon through a firmware update.
