Laser vision correction?
Hi, I'm new to the area and I'm in need of an eye doctor that deals with laser correction. I have untreated astigmatism in one eye that is causing me a lot of eye strain and pain lately.
I'm looking to hear from people that have had laser correction done in Nanaimo.
I'm just looking for some basic info such as where you went, what kind of treatment you had, any side effects you experienced, how much was the cost, etc.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

My wife and I had lasik 9 years ago at that LASIK place on Applecross. We both were short sighted.
I thought it was amazing. The procedure was like 2 minutes long and totally painless. One minute you couldn’t see the next you could.
I had no side effects aside from dry eyes for a few weeks. That’s typical and you would use eye drops.
I think we spent about $3500 each.
I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Awesome. Do either of you suffer from glare or light halos at night? That's my biggest concern.
No. Neither of us but that’s possible.
I don’t have astigmatism but had really bad eyes (-7 in both). I got lasik done at an Ontario LASIK branch about 10 years ago. I have night halos and glares now. I started really noticing it about 5 years ago. It makes nighttime driving uncomfortable for me, especially in the rain.
I can’t say for sure that lasik is why I have halos. Maybe it’s part of regular aging. But it’s definitely something I live with now. I’ve been told that those $20 drug store anti-glare glasses do wonders but haven’t tried myself.
That being said, 10 years later and I’m still at 20/20. So... pros and cons, I guess.
