Hello, as the title says I am trying to automate deployment with Ansible but I am running into a couple of problems.
It seems that a lot of the data is not stored in the database, and I am having trouble finding where it is located.
Specifically I am looking for the data that is input during the setup wizard, the data that is under the "Customize" tab, and the data that is under the "System Settings" tab (auth, SSO, etc).
Can anybody help me out? I've been told the API might be able to help with the setup wizard at least, but I can't seem to find documentation on it.
Thanks in advance!
Hi, relatively new Ansible user here.
I'm working on a deployment where some of the web apps use sqlite databases. I need to seed these with some basic data from variables.
Is there a way to do this with Ansible? I was surprised to find there's no sqlite module.
Edit: Solved. See below for details
Hello everybody.
I am working on an Ansible deployment that includes Jellyfin, LDAP, and a bunch of other stuff.
I have a basic instance of Jellyfin working except for one problem. The LDAP plugin keeps overwriting the config file with the default config file any time I attempt to login with a new user.
Has anybody else experienced this issue? I've tried to set the permissions to 400 but the plugin throws an exception error.
Edit: Solved. Not sure what happened exactly but probably a misconfiguration on my part.
Hello, I'm pretty new to Ansible and I'm trying to use it to automate the deployment of my docker home server. This would include setting up a linuxserver/mariadb container, and creating databases + users in it.
Here is the task I am trying to run, after creating the container:
- name: Create databases
mysql_db:
login_host: 127.0.0.1
login_port: 3306
login_user: root
login_password: "{{ mariadb.mysql_root_password }}"
name:
- some_dbs
encoding: utf8mb4
state: present
The task fails to run, resulting in this error:
fatal: [192.168.1.100]: FAILED! => {"changed": false, "msg": "unable to find /root/.my.cnf. E
This one has been a thorn in my side since I switched to Linux.
The game runs great before mods are installed. After installing a basic set of bug fix and graphical mods, it doesn't launch anymore. It finishes compiling shaders, then the process just hangs, eating up 100% of one CPU core. No window is launched or anything, the process just hangs until I kill it.
System Specs:
Intel 2500k @ 4.5Ghz, 8GB of RAM, EVGA GTX 1060 6GB. Running Arch Linux, latest proprietary drivers, latest Proton (though I've tried several versions over the last couple of years). Again, all other games work fine, and so does TW3 before mods. This is an issue specifically related to modding.

Hey everyone. So I followed u/fryfrog's wiki to increase the security of my docker setup (great resource for configuring the media stack btw, helped me a lot with the paths) by using a shared group, and individual users for each service.
The problem I'm running into now, is that Sonarr can't seem to change permissions on the completed file from NZBGet, presumably because NZBGet is the owner, not Sonarr. They are both in the same group media though.
This is resulting in all of my episode files having 777 perms (as assigned by NZBGet I guess), which I'm not happy about.
Alternatively, I'd actually prefer NZBGet to unpack files with the proper permissions in the first place. I have a uma
Hey everyone. I have a docker stack, using linuxserver/jellyfin container with the nvidia-container-toolkit for hardware transcoding.
Recently I am working on transitioning to Ansible for managing the server, as well as increasing security by setting more appropriate user/groups/permissions for the containers.
The user jellyfin has a primary group of frontend, and secondary groups of media (to read the library filesystem) and video (to access the GPU).
The container itself is set to use the jellyfin user, and the frontend group.
The actual problem is that Jellyfin can't to scan the library when run using the frontend group. Based on the logs it seems to lack permissions
Hi, I'm new to the area and I'm in need of an eye doctor that deals with laser correction. I have untreated astigmatism in one eye that is causing me a lot of eye strain and pain lately.
I'm looking to hear from people that have had laser correction done in Nanaimo.
I'm just looking for some basic info such as where you went, what kind of treatment you had, any side effects you experienced, how much was the cost, etc.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
I am trying to run a trading app with WINE, but it will not launch. The error message seems to point to a graphics issue. I have confirmed that the 32-bit driver package is installed lib32-nvidia-utils
Output from WINE is as follows:

Hey guys. I have a fully (100%) transparent bar that is heavily blurred by Compton to make it readable.
My issue is that the system tray is not getting blurred, which makes it less readable and also ruins the, otherwise unified, look that I have.
It's my understanding that the tray always enables pseudo transparency now, so I suspect this is the cause. The thing is, it doesn't seem to be possible to turn it off. The option to do so has been deprecated and transparency is always enabled, according to the wiki. I've tried setting the option anyway and there was no change.
Is there a way around this problem that I'm missing or am I just stuck with this?
SOLVED: with a 30 second sleep timer lol. The problem was due to changing to the lts kernel, where udev takes a little longer to recognize the partition name.
This is driving me absolutely insane, especially since it used to work and now it refuses to no matter what I do.
The command in question is:
echo -n "$CRYPTPASS" | cryptsetup luksFormat -d - --align-payload=8192 -s 256 -c aes-xts-plain64 /dev/disk/by-partlabel/cryptsystem
It fails with the error: Device /dev/disk/by-partlabel/cryptsystem doesn't exist or access denied.
The partition in question definitely exists with the defined label. I can literally copy-paste the command into the terminal right after getting
SOLVED: it seems that my script broke due to switching to the lts kernel, which takes longer to recognize the partition name. Adding a sleep timer for 30s seems to have solved the issue. Not really a bash specific problem but you guys were super helpful. Thanks!
