For the rest of the regular season, would you rather the Kings...

This sub is so toxic. You’d think they would learn from years past guaranteeing a high draft pick doesn’t mean guaranteeing a great player. Meanwhile a young core winning even 12 of their last 15 would build irreplaceable momentum and confidence, not to mention attract higher quality free agents. I truly just feel so bad for anyone that thinks this way.
Although you are correct with your statement about high draft pick ≠ a great player. You are vastly overselling our squad in its current situation. Also you mention our young core but in reality it's only Fox and Hali who are untouchable, the rest of the squad is expendable and I do believe Monte is going to make some big moves in the off-season involving Buddy and Barnes.
Also lmao about attracting higher qualify free agents, even if we do win 12 of our remaining games, we would just get bounced out of the play-in tourney. As far as I'm aware when it comes to free agents in the NBA, they have two things on their mind; winning and/or getting paid. None of which we can even provide.
The whole reason this team has been absolutely shit and not made the playoffs in 14 years going on 15 is because the team has never had a proper rebuild because the organisation's decision making is possibly the worst in the league.
This team has dabbled in the not good enough to make the playoffs and too good to get a high draft pick category for far too long. Combined with how bad the management has been, this pretty much explains why 99% of our draft selections for over a decade have been an utter disgrace.
I know a lot of people are still unsure on Monte, but at least I feel confident that whoever he picks will be the right choice for our team. It just shows how bad and incompetent Vlade actually was at being a GM, and that's on the owners as well.
Call me a toxic fan all you want, but I just can't see how making the play-in tourney helps the team in anyway. Honestly it just feels like that would be a 1 step forward, 2 steps backwards move.
This "young core" of two players has won 7 of 8 on two separate occasions this season, leading to nothing except 9 straight losses
Yeah what the fuck?
IF the kings make the play-in Luke is back next season. Vivek is vindicated and he will continue to meddle because, his roster, his coach, his Buddy Hield starting got to the play-in. If we lose out, Monte can at least show how Vivek's meddling is the reason why the kings have missed the playoffs since he bought the team.
sometimes you have to lose a battle, to win the war.
Edit: just because you use the word "toxic" doesn't mean you're right.
Vlade isn’t the GM anymore
winning every game pretty much assures a play in spot that we’ll do nothing with, if we’re lucky enough to make it to the first round we’ll get stomped by the jazz. as much as i want to make the playoffs it’d probably be best to lose out, and even then we’re not guaranteed a good pick. i’d rather go for maybe a good pick than a wasted playoff appearance that only prolongs luke walton’s coaching stint
