A1466 Random Shut Down, Sometimes No Power
We bought a 2nd hand macbook air about a month ago. The first 2 weeks was great, then started randomly having issues of not starting up.
We figured it was a dead battery and the charger wasn't working properly so bought a new one. That still didn't work, but we'd left it on charge and the next day it was lit up green again and would turn on fine. Both chargers actually work.
This would happen randomly for a while, not starting up when needed. Today it randomly shut down while in use and wouldn't start back up.
We've tried all the various options of buttons with no luck.
At this point I'm considering opening it up to see if there's any issues inside. From what I've read if I disconnect the battery and then plug in the charger if it turns on its likely a battery issue, if it doesn't then it's a motherboard issue. Is that correct?
Is there anything else to look out for?

Additional details: turned back on again after charging for a while (not sure if it was from charging, or just time based). Decided to try a reinstall of macOS anyway just to be safe.
Left it plugged in while that ran and looks like it’s died at some point, was okay for the first ~30 minutes, not sure if it completed.
The green power light on the charger was still on but no power pressing the button.
Removed the charger and put it back on and now the light isn’t showing on it.
