Happy Having Switched From Tidal But Man Do Search Results Suck!

I switched from Tidal a couple of months ago and overall I'm happy with the move. It's a little cheaper, you can import to offline on desktop, and there's no messing about with MQA.

But man do search results suck! If you click on an artist you just get a list of releases, with no division into albums, singles, etc. And some of the results aren't even by the artist you just selected. I clicked on Curtis Mayfield just now and the fourth release listed is the album 'Both Sides' by Phil Collins!

Come on Qobuz, you can do better than this!

Agreed, sometimes I can't find an album they sent me an email about. Amazon has similar problems when searching for products.

I find you have to be very specific in the search, their search engine is not very "smart" but I usually find everything I look for but sometimes I find it elsewhere first to get clues as to how it may be listed. I rarely depend on just a list for an artist but search for the track or release title and letter & punctuation perfect.

Yeah, I wasn't looking for a specific release, I just fancied listening to some Curtis Mayfield and wanted to browse his albums, which it turns out is not very easy to do. I'll probably just use Wikipedia next time lol

Yes, I usually have Wikipedia open at the same time as Qobuz, helps a lot - for searching & for listening.

Qobuz experience is helped immensely by using Roon instead of the Qobuz app. Granted, Roon is an additional expense...

Search results suck and the app sucks. Especially if you have a large amount of tracks.

I'd also say the increased audio quality (for 24 bit tracks) is a nice to have as well.

I do wish the results were a little better on this front though, some organization would be nice. Overall it's a lot better than it was long ago though and it's worth supporting the company that consistently has topped the charts for artist payout.
