Like a lot of people I'm giving Apple Music a go at the moment, and while I'm satisfied with the sound quality and user experience, and obviously love the low price, there's two reasons I'm not giving up Qobuz just yet.

The first is simple–release availability. It seems like everyone I heard talk about AM said the whole catalogue would be available in lossless quality, but it took about three minutes of using it to find that's not the case. The first thing I did to test sound quality was browse new classical releases and click on the first release that took my fancy. It was the Bach Cello Suites by Alisa Weilerstein, and while it had the Apple Digital Master logo, it didn't have the Lossles

I'm 90% sure I have this from reading a bit about this yesterday. Clicking / popping sensation (worse in left ear), tinnitus (worse in left ear), severe pain when changing altitude. When it says 'Who is most at risk?' it says: "People with allergies. More persistent allergies or conditions that affect the nose, such as persistent rhinitis, can cause more mucus and increase the chance of congestion."

Just wondering if any other sinusitis sufferers have experienced this and how they coped. The surgical treatments all sound pretty horrible (drilling holes in the ears!) Thx

I posted a few weeks back that switching from a Neti Pot to a nasal syringe had really helped me–it's almost made sinus headaches a thing of the past. But in the last few days I've noticed the tinnitus that started to develop about six months ago has become much more pronounced, in my right ear particularly.

I can't help but wonder if there is a connection. The nasal syringe works because the increased pressure of the water helps it reach places it couldn't when I was just letting in run through my nostrils with the Neti Pot. But could this pressure be acting negatively on my inner ear as well?

I've had tinnitus for about six months now; it started as a very faint background noise but the last couple of weeks it's become more insistent. About three years ago I had a big wax buildup and had my ears syringed by a nurse, which solved the problem. I have a feeling my tinnitus is connected to another recent buildup–it's loudest in my right ear and I can almost feel the presence of wax there. (I've also had chronic sinusitis for six years, which I suspect is connected to both the wax and the t.)

Someone recently posted on here that they got rid of their tinnitus completely after removing wax with a metal tool–a rod with a loop at the end. I got one last week and tried it but despite bei

Not sure if this will interest anyone else but I've been waiting for My Bloody Valentine to appear on Qobuz for ages and now they're here. I'm gonna listen to Loveless and mbv this afternoon!

I say possible because you have to be careful confounding correlation for causation but I have been headache-free for around two weeks now, and three weeks ago I started inverting my head during nasal irrigation. I don't do the full upside-down thing lying supine on a table–I just stand over the drain in my kitchen as usual and tip my head forwards as far as I can comfortably go. I then use a nasal syringe (switched from neti pot specifically to do this) and gently 'pulse' the water into my nose. Because the nasal syringe uses half the water as my neti pot did, I do two runs for each nostril–right, left, right, left.

If you haven't tried it yet and are interesting in experimenting with non-

Why don't professional bakers autolyse?

Let's discuss/share knowledge

Like most people on here (I'm guessing) I've watched a lot of YouTube videos of people making sourdough. One thing I keep seeing is that home bakers always stress the importance of autolyse for promoting gluten development, but whenever I watch I video of a professional bake in a shop or a micro bakery they don't do it. The routine always seems to be adding water to the bulk fermentation box, adding the starter to that and mixing it in to the water, then adding the flour and combining into a shaggy mixture.

I'm just curious if others have noticed this and if anyone has any thoughts. Happy baking!

One of the worst things about Apple removing the power button for me is it is now impossible to clean the keys and trackpad without giving commands. You can power down, but literally any key you hit will power it back up. Last time I did this I must have pressed some weird combination of keys because when it had finished starting up the status bar had disappeared!

Is there a cleaning mode? A way to disable the keys and trackpad until you hit a specified combination of keys? (Cmd + U, for 'Unlock' for example.)

I used to be a front-sleeper, but I managed to change into side-sleeper a couple of years ago and I think it really contributed to my symptoms improving somewhat. I want to complete the change by becoming a back sleeper but I'm finding it really hard–I feel like I need the pressure of being squeezed, which I had as a front and side sleeper, in order to fall asleep.

Whenever I try all that happens is I doze for like twenty minutes and then I'm wide awake again. Does anyone have any tips to help me?

I switched from Tidal a couple of months ago and overall I'm happy with the move. It's a little cheaper, you can import to offline on desktop, and there's no messing about with MQA.

But man do search results suck! If you click on an artist you just get a list of releases, with no division into albums, singles, etc. And some of the results aren't even by the artist you just selected. I clicked on Curtis Mayfield just now and the fourth release listed is the album 'Both Sides' by Phil Collins!

Come on Qobuz, you can do better than this!

I mainly download Audirvana to try the Remote function, which you still can't do within Tidal or Qobuz, but I thought I'd try testing playback of local files as well, since I have been told that "iTunes sounds like crap." Since I've always been happy with its performance and sceptical that software makes a difference in digital playback (hardware is another matter), I gave them a quick comparison.

The song I used was Rules by Kruangbin (ALAC 24/48). I used a 2020 MacBook Pro, going into a Luxman D-N150, feeding a Luxman SQ-N150, driving Fyne Audio 701s. Cables by Luxman and Tellurium Q.

I listened to the song six times, three times on iTunes and three times on Audirvana, going from one to

Hi. Like the title says really–I got the Pure Hot + Cold in the winter to combat my sinusitis, which gets really bad in conventionally heated rooms because of the dry heat. I'm really happy with it, but every now and then I'll hear a sort of conveyer sound (I assume this is when it's switching from pure mode to heating mode). The conveyer sound seems normal but at the end of the sound there's a kind of grunting that lasts for one second, and it's getting kind of annoying trying to keep concentrated when I work. Any ideas much appreciated!
