Bless my late husband
He was a Union man for 35 years (DC 711/Local 1009 Architectural Metal and Glass Workers)
I spoke to Social Security today about widow benefits and my Aunt had told me to expect $800.00 a month. I spoke to the lady today and she told me I'm getting $1,650.00 a month. PLUS the $800.00 I'm already getting every month from his Union.
He took such good care of me for 26 years and he's still taking good care of me 2 years after his death.
Bless him and the his Union Brothers

My husband was a Union man for many years and his union has been good to me as well. Roger wasn't proud that he was a laborer, but he worked his butt off for 33 years and I was always proud of him. He too took good care of me in life and continues to do so even though he is no longer here.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I feel your pain so much! Why wasn't he proud of being a Union laborer? He should have been proud! My husband was working installing glass on a 20 story high-rise on 9-11 in Jersey City, NJ when the planes hit. He was part of the crew helping survivors across the Hudson River. Much internet Hugs and love to you!
I would give all of that $$ up and live in a box in the park to have that man back in my life for 1 day.
I went down to volunteer with my friends, but they were only accepting hardhats. He was a good man.
I didn't see him for two days, all the bridges were closed. Hard to believe it's been almost 20 years..
That must have been terrifying. The dust fell on my Brooklyn neighborhood. It was quite a moment. Yet it all seems so innocent.
